“Some people are afraid of what they might find if they try to analyze themselves too much, but you have to crawl into your wounds to discover where your fears are. Once the bleeding starts, the cleansing can begin.”

Joey Pepperoni

Joey Pepperoni

We've been to many Italian resto but Joey Pepperoni have a soft spot in my heart. :) Jeng and I discovered it on January of 2009. I was applying for NCO located at ELJ Building (ABS CBN compound), and it was in front of the building. During the final interview, that took forever, Jeng didn't go to work and waited for me there until 1am. Yes, I got the job.

I was very excited when I learned that there will be one in our new favorite mall - SM Calamba. Hahaha.

It is strategically located near the entrance (from the back parking lot) near the elevator. So if you missed it, you'll definitely notice it going up.

We've been there twice already in one week. Isn't that love? I hope that you already had your dinner (or breakfast or lunch) before looking at the rest of the pictures, because I tell you, these will make you hungry! :)

Carbonara (P165)
This is your typical Carbonara - made with creamy alfredo sauce, bacon bits and parmesan cheese (according to the menu), but this is really good. The alfredo sauce isn't too much, it's just enough to coat the pasta. Jeng likes it! Good for one person only.

Set 3: Pasta, Bread, Classic Caesar Salad (P160)
This includes single serve drink (iced tea or soda). You can choose any from these three pasta - Bolognese, Pesto and Carbonara. Mine is Pesto. Loved the bread, it reminds me of Fazoli's. Next time, I'll order more bread. The greens aren't as crisp as I expected, but the parmesan and bacon makes it complete. It's safe to say that the salad is ok. Nothing special. Oh, the yellow thing is the Caesar dressing is just overwhelming. It does look like butter from this picture. The combination of olive oil and basil makes the pesto just lovely. This is my second favorite pasta @ Joey Pepperoni. This plate is a good deal. :) I recommend you try it.

Maiale con Riso (P155)
In laymans' term, this is Pork chop with barbecue sauce and rice. The meat is tender and easy to chew. The sauce though taste ordinary - nothing extravagant. But combined with rice made it a sumptuous meal.

The Works 8" (P170)
Smoked ham, pepperoni, bacon, salami, mushrooms, ground beef, onions, bell pepper, and olives, you know, the works. Hahaha. Everything on it! I love that the vegetables tastes fresh. This is a plus point for me. Jeng thinks that the crust is to thin, it's almost eating sky flakes. Like any other pizza, best to consume while it's hot.

Pasta del Tonno (P145)
Tuna, bell peppers and olive oil. THE BEST. My new favorite pasta now!! I love tuna pasta, but this one is very special. The olive oil and bell pepper are just as perfect as the tuna. I told Jeng I'll share this one with him, it's just soooo yummy, luscious, delectable and mouthwatering, i totally forgot about what I said, I ate the whole plate. You have to try this, seriously!!!

Pollo Impanato e Patate Fritte (P160)
Breaded chicken fingers served with fries and dip. The breading was kind of hard, and I'd like to quote my friend - "nakakasugat ng gilagid." The fries, it's fries. This is very ordinary. I suggest you skip this one. For me, the best chicken fingers and fries is that of Carlos' Pizza.

The place was a bit small. Well, what do I expect, SM Calamba is relatively small compared to other SM stores. I do like that the colors of the tables&chairs, the floor, and the whole place is very minimal. It is very easy on the eye and I find it very neat.

I just have to say, this wall is amazing. :)

As cliche as it may sound, the best way to enjoy food is with the people you really like. Presenting two of may favorite friends in this entire world. The bravest of them all when it's about the matters of the heart (sometimes, a little stupid, though). Peace.

Back to Joey Pepperoni. Overall I say, you give it a try. The food serving is worth the money you pay. This is good food that is not expensive. Next time I'd love to try their sandwiches and desserts. :) I am soo looking forward to it.

Joey Pepperoni is everywhere. Yes, the one in SM Calamba is the newest. They also offer Party Packages and open for franchising. Contact details below.
